Additional Notes

This PDF pattern includes all pattern pieces and step-by-step instructions with illustrations.

I love these pants! So many patterns are high waisted, which I can't stand, so I jumped on this low-rise pattern. They sit perfectly above my hips (and I have pretty slim hips, but the drawstring keeps them up nicely). I got a little mixed up figuring out the drawstring channel, but it mostly worked out, that instructions section could maybe be clearer though. This is the first pair of pants I've ever sewn, so definitely beginner friendly since they aren't form fitting, makes them very forgiving. The pattern runs a little big, I usually wear and 8 in RTW pants and I sewed a small that fit easily. But since they have a drawstring, they could easily be made big and tightened up. I'm also 5'5" and had to shorten the legs about 7.5" to get them to fall just above my sandals.

I have made one pair this afternoon and found the pattern to be easy to follow and the result was very cute. I like the ability to customize the fit. I will use this with the next pair tomorrow. I used the hip measurement as required for the sizing selection, I felt the finished garment was a good size too big.

It was simple and quick.

The pattern was very easy to print and to put together. The instructions were great too. You really can't go wrong. But unfortunately the fit isn't very good. I know the trousers are supposed to sit low, but even so, the rise was way too short. I had to remove the tie channel, add 4 inches and resew the channel. After that, they were fine. I have amended my pattern and will now make more pairs for the summer.
