Houndstooth Alberta Street
I bought this fabric a year ago with the vague idea of making a skirt. It's a lovely stretch canvas, and it is the perfect fabric for this pattern. I sewed a size 16, but I took it in significantly from the widest part of my hip on down. I also shortened it about an inch and lengthened the back darts 1". My legs must be set pretty close together, because while it looks pretty close to the pattern photo now, unaltered, this skirt is more straight than pencil on me.
I wasn't going to include the pockets because I didn't want the headache of pattern matching, but in the end, I did and it wasn't so hard. I'm pretty happy with the results of my efforts! More photos and details on my blog.
